I already have it scheduled for tomorrow. Thanks.

46:13
Are you presenting a course to create modules?

47:51
https://giphy.com/

48:34
Dr. Gamble has made a tutorial on how to link Canvas to Powerschool. It is located at the bottom of the Professional Development Opportunities page on the district website. Scroll down to Teacher Trainings on Demand.

51:00
How can you see all of those settings under courses?

52:06
so you have to click into a course and than click settings if you’re not in a course

52:27
Thanks Amanda!

55:05
Thank you!

55:33
1:28PM restart.

57:39
Do you have to customize each course separately under the Navigation tab, or is it possible to copy the settings from one course to another?

57:52
I might have missed this… when adding an app like FlipGrid, where do I find the Consumer Key and Shared Secret?

59:59
Thanks

01:00:34
Should we contact IT to get the codes?

01:00:38
Thank you

01:05:50
Hello Leesa, Lennie takes care of Canvas. Email her.

01:23:02
How did you link the “button” from your home page to the page you just worked on?

01:28:19
canva.com

01:28:22
How to you link the pages to a module?

01:30:45
2:12 restart!!!

01:36:54
So, let’s say we did a link in a page to instagram (lots of artists share artwork and processes on instagram instead of websites since it’s free) could the students even view that link?

01:37:20
Amanda,

01:37:41
That will depend on your IT firewall, and what the district allows students access to while in buildings.

01:38:07
For Canvas, it will display and embed, but if the firewall blocks access, then the students will not see the content.

01:39:34
I can embed a link but not a picture or video - so I assume the students would’t be able to access the content thru a link.

01:42:51
I’m guessing that’s true. I’m not an IG user, so I don’t know what the platform as far as embed code, etc. They may block you from directly downloading content (I’m not sure about that…just a guess)>

01:55:09
Can you “share” modules with coworkers without putting it in the commons?

02:00:32
Perfect, thank you

02:02:36
Awesome!! Thank you those are great options!

02:05:03
A suggestion when creating your class put, the information you include in to a specific folder in your drive by S1 or S2 and each week in an individualized folder. Making sure to make your file public in the district makes it easier fo your students to open work you upload.

02:10:16
I know that I already asked this question but I have already forgotten how to go into courses and pull up these links. Can someone remind me how I do this? Thanks!

02:11:33
Select Dashboard in the left panel and then select a course.

02:12:01
Thank you!

02:13:32
Can the student record inside an assignment and then upload it for you to grade?

02:14:05
I just had trouble with the students opening my assignments when I didn’t make my folder public.

02:16:02
Yes kuhlmann

02:26:39
What type of files does canvas accept? For my graphic design students I usually have them save and submit files as PDF documents, would canvas accept a PDF? Or would students need to upload JPEG files?

02:27:53
Can even have students record verbal explanations for math problems

02:30:23
Thank you for that clarification!

02:39:02
Can you give students options for all turn in options or do you have to choose one

02:39:53
But you cannot choose on paper and external tool?

02:40:08
And what do you click on for that cloud option?

02:40:39
Ok thank you

02:41:27
Thank you

02:42:32
3:15 Restart! See you in a few.

02:45:36
So David, with the cloud assignment Google doc from my drive, once it is published for the student, they will be able to manipulate it? I just tried adding something to an old assignment and the doc shows, but almost like a scan and I cannot manipulate it at all.

02:47:09
Oops… never mind. I tried again and it worked.

02:47:14
So, it will allow you to link any items you have in Drive…but if it is a PDF (or JPG, etc.), then there is no way for students to manipulate the document by adding text etc.

02:47:22
Hahaha…no worries! Glad it’s working!

02:50:35
Will you please share your screen?

02:50:41
Sorry, and this can wait until you finish what you are talking about, but one last question about the cloud thing. If it is a longer assignment and they are manipulated say a study guide, can they work on it a bit, save, then go and finish it at a later time prior to submission?

02:51:12
Found it

03:03:49
Thank you

Yes, the joke goes that Rawlins had a choice of the university or the prison, and they chose the prison. Not sure how true it is.

03:26:12
Yes ulna is lined with pinky

03:28:21
Do you have a check all that applies?

03:30:02
Nevermind, that would be multiple answer. Got it..

03:31:30
This has been great! Thank you!

03:32:57
Thank You

03:33:00
Gracias David. Hasta mañana.

03:33:13
Will you be able to share the recording of this with Sweetwater 1 teachers?

03:34:39

03:36:35
Okay, thank you regarding the Announcements.
