We have General Learning Outcomes related to the General Education Core and every instructor should have Learning Outcomes for their classes.

Yes we will post the recording and handout on our website. And will email all of you once it is posted next week.

We use them to support our accreditation reports. To determine which revisions need to be made to curriculum, staffing, tech, etc. Also, to develop remediation policies and programs.

Are you saying that we cannot tie course level outcomes to program level and account level outcomes?

Dao’s question in the Q&A about outcomes and grading is a major hurdle for a LOT of institutions when getting down to the details of having faculty actually engage with outcomes. We are struggling with it, and it would be wonderful if Canvas has this issue on their mind for strategic planning and roadmaps for future functionality.

As the admin, I have built account level outcomes and program level outcomes so they can be tied to course objectives within assignments, quizzes, and discussions. Am I doing this wrong?

I had this issue yesterday where it wasn't loading.

I had to refresh a couple of times, eventually it worked. :-)

Yes, the naming convention for outcomes at the account/department level is CRUCIAL!!!

So, do you need to have all of these fields as columns in our CSV file prior to importing?

Normally rubrics have multiple rows for an outcome. Can we add a row?

What were the course dates in "Settings?" I couldn't see it. Make sure it's within today or check "Participation" if it's course or Term.

Our university has been doing Outcomes imports for about a year now, if anyone would like a second pair of eyes to troubleshoot (hsumner@semo.edu). It can definitely be tricky! 🙂

@Frances, the emails are spotty. I always get an email if an import successfully uploaded, but if there’s an error, I never get the email with the description of the error.

It’s worth emphasizing that the new Outcomes management will not allow you to customize the scale/criteria for each Outcome. We decided to not turn it on, because our departments all have different needs.
